Alcohol is just the same as any other thing you put in your mouth really (apart from it can get addictive if you take in large amounts on a regular basis of course... but then again...chocolate is the same). Some people enjoy the taste and indulgence in it and don't just necessarily do it just to enhance their ability to have fun. No doubt there are others that DO ned it to get away from the real world... but thats not bad...its sad. I can feel happy with or without alcohol... but like I said... its an indulgent that someimes just tickles my fancy like chocolate does.
Sorry to hear about your friend Hayley. xxx

It's not nessiserily always 'bad'. A little bit of alcohol every now and again has been proven to be good for you. It's the same with anything else really - 'too much' of something is always bad, otherwise it wouldn't be called, well 'too much'!

I got drunk for the first time a few weeks ago, mainly just to fit in with everybody else at a party. I didn't drink that much, but it really went to my head! I didn't realize how strong it was, and ended up doing something I kind of regret.
It's overrated, guys!

drinking isnt always bad, if you know your limits then theres nothing wrong with having a few drinks. me and my mates always have a drink on a weekend but we dont go over top and we dont go round causing trouble so no one has a problem with it. i dont like it though when men use acohol as an excuse for hitting a women , makes me soo mad. So sorry about your loss aswell hayley

Getting really drunk every night isn't clever, but I can't see any problem with having a few drinks to build up someones confidence. As long as your responsible and no your limits, alcohol isn't as bag as everyone says.

I love scotch. Scotchy, scotch, scotch. Here it goes down, down into my belly...

^^ er.... different....
anyway, i agree with most people on here that drinking socially is cool but you really do have to know your limits because after that it can be really dangerous and trust me i know. I think ive had enough drunken experiences in the past both embarasing and scary to know now that its just not the way to have fun. One of the dangerous parts is once you have a drink or two you just find yourself wanting more and more.
i hardly ever drink now because i just cant stand the feeling rough part the next day
