This is a horrible topic to talk about but sadly hearing the word Cancer is becoming more and more common. It seems everyone these days knows someone who has went through cancer or even battled it themselves Like my friends little sister had luekemia and it was horrible for her and her family. Luckily she's in the clear now but it was so scary at the time for my friend and her family. I've lost a few relatives through cancer too.

I was reading an old issue of Time Magazine where the writer relates his experience as a test subject for a cancer drug. According to him, the drug was being developed as a cure for cancer but was pulled out or halted because the company found that it could cause a stroke as a side effect.
Now as far as I understand side effects don't always happen to people. --I mean, just because say, nausea is listed as a side effect to a certain medicine, it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be one of those people who are going to experience it. (Still, I know that strokes are hard because you're likely to lose control of your motor abilities amongst other ailments.)
That said, would you rather risk the stroke given the chance that there might be a cure for cancer?

If it can cure cancer then noone's going to care about such a small side effect like that.

So...You either lose yur life to cancer...Or you have this cure for cancer and risk losing your life also!? Hmmmm....I know what your saying but a stroke can be just as bad as having cancer! My friends dad had a stoke and now needs permanent care...Thats not what I would want. I totally see your point though!

I totally see your point though! Well thank you for seeing my point and of course a stroke can be very serious. I didn't word my last post so well did I? At the end of the day there is a very high chance that cancer will claim your life anyways. I think the real question here is are you willing to let that happen or are you willing to take a chance for something which may save your life?
